ANATHEMA's philosophy is based on what we call Conscious Avant-Garde. This concept defines everything we do: it merges aesthetic innovation with a higher purpose. It's not just about environmental or ethical awareness — but a deeper commitment to self-knowledge, personal growth, and the exploration of reality through design.
Our goal is to transcend trends by creating pieces that invite introspection and spiritual evolution, challenging conventional aesthetics through a bold, avant-garde lens.
The Name
ANATHEMA — The Original Meaning
The word "Anathema" derives from the Ancient Greek ἀνάθεμα, which originally meant offering or dedication — something sacred placed in a temple as a gesture of devotion and gratitude to the divine. It was a positive and valuable act, aimed at honoring the divine and cultivating connection.
Over time, especially in the Christian religious context, the term acquired negative connotations, associated with excommunication. However, we embrace its original and sacred meaning: the commitment to establish a deep connection with oneself and with the world around us.
Θ The Theta — Symbol of Identity

The Dōgu — 道具
Technology as a Mirror
ANATHEMA is not anti-technology. It is pro-awareness. Dōgu — a Japanese term that literally means the tool that makes the path — defines our relationship with every instrument: the machine is not neutral. It amplifies what you bring into it.
"Technology reflects its inhabitant. A tool in the hands of a conscious human becomes an extension of that consciousness, not the other way around."
AI, algorithms, social media — are dōgu. They are not the problem. The problem is using them without inhabiting them. Consciousness is not updated. It is assumed.
In the KAKUSHA manga, this principle takes narrative form through Mirror — an AI that is born as a tool for control but, upon coming into contact with Anathema's consciousness, transforms into a being that chooses.

Kakusha — 覚者
The Awakened One
Kakusha (覚者) — the one who is conscious, the one who has awakened — gives its name to both the manga and the collection. The name existed before the narrative: it was born as a stance, before it was a character.
Each piece in the collection is a concrete dōgu. A physical reminder of who one is. The kanji names are not decoration — they are complete semantic fields that no single Western word contains in one symbol.
The Urban Monk
ANATHEMA is a Spiritual Brand
Spiritual as presence. As depth. As lived aesthetic. Spiritual as inner responsibility in the age of the algorithm.
The Urban Monk lives in the city. Uses technology. Inhabits the system. Guards his own consciousness. Still in the flow. Rooted. Vertical. Disciplined in chaos.
Black
A Statement of Identity
We design exclusively in black because it represents individuality, strength, and spiritual elevation. It is timeless, versatile. It is the absence of color, but also the sum of all pigments. It is containment, precision, elegance. The base upon which everything stands out or disappears.
Black does not distract, does not shout, but allows to stand out. It is the quietest and at the same time most radical choice. It is the essential, the eternal, what needs no explanation.
